2 Passengers Injured When Train Strikes Unoccupied Car: Reports

Port Jervis Line rail service is suspended in both directions between Campbell Hall and Otisville due to the accident.

WALLKILL, NY — Officials say slippery conditions may have contributed to a collision between a car and a train.

Authorities told CBS News New York that a train struck a car that had slipped off an adjacent road onto the tracks around 6:51 a.m. Wednesday, just west of the Campbell Hall Station in Hamptonburg.

Port Jervis Line rail service was suspended in both directions between Campbell Hall and Otisville until early afternoon due to the motor vehicle strike near Campbell Hall, according to NJ TRANSIT. Rail tickets and passes were cross-honored by NJ TRANSIT bus, private carriers and MTA shuttle buses.
