DOVER, NY — The New York State Police from the Dover Plains barracks provided a presentation in the town of Dover April 7 to help educate the public regarding prevalent fraud schemes. Sergeant William Singleton, of the Dover Plains barracks, gave a presentation to the senior residents of Tally Ho Estates, and additional Dover residents to help meet the state police's crime prevention goals.

The presentation centered on keeping citizens from becoming victims by providing them with information to more easily recognize fraudulent scams, as well as strategies to help prevent individuals from falling prey to scammers.

Attendees were then encouraged to pass on information to family, friends and community members to increase awareness and prevent future victimization.
