Storm Damage Widespread In Hudson Valley Tuesday: Reports
Damage was extensive throughout the region from the severe storm.

HUDSON VALLEY, NY — A severe storm barreled through the Hudson Valley Tuesday afternoon, with reports of hail, extremely high winds and even tornadoes. The National Weather Service issued a Preliminary Local Storm Report at 8:12 p.m. Tuesday. Tree limbs down, trees snapped or uprooted, wind gusts of 60+ mph, and lots of damage.
Newburgh had extraordinary damage, with locals reporting extreme damage. The reports started coming in at 5:12 p.m.
- 0512 PM NEWBURGH TREES DOWN WITH CARS AND BUILDINGS DAMAGED ON FIRST STREET BETWEEN LUTHERAN STREET AND CITY TERRACE.
- 0524 PM NEWBURGH ROOF OFF OF THE HOTEL IMPERIAL AT BROADWAY AND ROBINSON AVENUE
- 0524 PM NEWBURGH ROOF COVER BLOWN OFF AN ABANDONED BUILDING ON CARPENTER AVENUE NEAR BROADWAY WITH BRICKS ON THE GROUND.
Following today’s #severeweather many trees have fallen in Quinnipiac Mount Carmel’s Pine Grove. @joe_iasso, senior, who was on campus at the time said that a “tornado ripped through it, half the trees are gone.” Two cars were also damaged. pic.twitter.com/f05TaJDqky

Was it a tornado or not? So far only one confirmed tornado was reported in Sullivan County.
