Teen Driver And 2 Passengers Busted With 51.8 Grams Of Cocaine: NYSP

All three were charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell and released on their own recognizance.

PLATTEKILL, NY — New York State Police have announced that a recent traffic stop led to a substantial drug seizure.

On April 26, shortly before 6 p.m., state troopers from the Troop F Community Stabilization Unit (CSU) were patrolling Interstate 87 in the town of Plattekill, when they pulled over a 2020 Honda Accord traveling north for traffic violations.

After the driver gave permission to search the vehicle, troopers report finding and seizing 51.8 grams of cocaine.

Driver Ian E. Morales, 19, from Troy and two passengers Andre M. Jones, 21, from Cohoes and Tyrique E. Cannon, 23, from Troy, were arrested and charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell.

All three were arraigned in Plattekill Town Court and released on their own recognizance.
