Teenage Victim ID'd In Fatal 2-Vehicle Dutchess County Crash

The sheriff's office says that the primary factors in the crash are believed to be excessive speed, damp roadways, and aggressive driving.

UNION VALE, NY — Officials have identified the teen killed in a collision on rain-soaked roads on Thursday.

The Dutchess County Sheriff's Office says that it is still investigating the fatal, two-vehicle crash that took place in the Town of Union Vale at 6:32 p.m.

A preliminary investigation found that a white 2004 Nissan four-door sedan was headed north on Clove Road, north of the West Clove Mountain Road intersection, when the driver lost control at a sharp curve. The car then entered the southbound lane, where it was struck by a black Ford Ranger traveling south.

The driver of the Nissan had to be extricated from the vehicle, and both drivers were then taken from the scene with injuries from the crash.

The driver of the Nissan was later pronounced dead at Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital Center. She has been identified as 18-year-old Sarah McAllister, of the Town of Dover.
