Wallkill Woman Accused In Hit-and-Run Death Of Wallkill Man

The man was found on Route 209 in Mamakating.

WALLKILL, NY — New York State police arrested a Wallkill woman accused in the death of a Wallkill man in Mamakating on Saturday.

New York State troopers were called to Route 209 near Perron Drive at 10:50 p.m. They found Raymond Anderson, 51, in the roadway. He was taken to Garnet Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

Their subsequent investigation led to the arrest of Shirley Bowens, 48 from the town of Wallkill, police said.

She faces a charge of leaving the scene of an accident which resulted in death, a felony.

She was arraigned in the Town of Mamakating Court and remanded to the Sullivan County Jail in lieu of $20,000 cash bail.
