Amtrak Train Covers Commuters In Snow Going Through Dutchess County Station

Amtrak said the engineer was going through the station at an authorized speed.

RHINECLIFF, NY — Rhinecliff, a hamlet in the Town of Rhinebeck, is known for the Rhinecliff Inn, which is on the National Registry of Historic Places, and its Amtrak stop.

But commuters waiting for a train Wednesday got something of a surprise when a train came through the station with snow still on the tracks.

The video, which has been widely circulated on social media, shows passengers on the platform — some standing extremely close to the edge — as the train approaches the station. It was throwing snow everywhere as it went through the station.
