Yonkers Woman Killed In 1-Car Crash

Police said the crash was likely related to the weather.

SAUGERTIES, NY — A Yonkers woman was killed Monday in a one-car crash on the Thruway. State police said troopers were sent to a report of the one-car crash around 5:15 p.m. Monday on southbound I-87 in the Town of Saugerties.

The crash happened in the area of mile marker 104.1, police said.

The preliminary investigation found that a 2020 Chevrolet Camaro was traveling south when it left the roadway on the right shoulder and struck the guide rail.

Mary C. Devine, 70, of Yonkers, was the driver and sole occupant of the car.

She was pronounced dead at the scene by the Ulster County Medical Examiner and her body was taken to Kingston Hospital.
