Blue Bottle Coffee To Open New Grand Central Store

Blue Bottle Coffee will open its newest New York City location in a building steps away from Grand Central Terminal.

MIDTOWN MANHATTAN, NY — Blue Bottle Coffee will be serving up free coffee in Midtown to celebrate opening a new store near Grand Central Terminal, the coffee shop announced in a press release.

The newest Blue Bottle Coffee store will be located in a ground-floor retail space in One Grand Central Place — a 55-story building adjacent to the transportation hub — according to a spokesperson for Blue Bottle. The store will hold a special "community day" Friday a day ahead of the store's grand opening on Saturday.

During "community day" customers can swing by the new coffee shop for a free cup of joe, according to a press release. Customers will also be able to buy Blue Bottle's pastries and other merchandise with proceeds benefitting the Children's Aid Society.

The store will officially open for business on Saturday, according to a Blue Bottle press release. Due to One Grand Central Place's in-building access to Metro North and the subway, the coffee shop hopes to offer respite to "busy travelers and commuters who want to take a few moments to enjoy the experience of their coffee," according to a press release.

Blue Bottle Coffee currently operates 12 coffee shops across New York City. The Grand Central shop will be its 13th store and another store is set to open Williamsburg, Brooklyn. The coffee company was founded in 2002 in Oakland, California and now has locations in the Bay Area, Los Angeles, New YorkCity , Washington D.C., Miami and Tokyo.
