Chair-Less Japanese Steakhouse Plans 3 Midtown Locations: Report
Japanese steakhouse Ikinari plans to open three restaurants in Midtown, pushing its citywide total to seven.

MIDTOWN MANHATTAN, NY — A Japenese steakhouse known for having no chairs announced plans to open three new locations in Midtown, pushing its citywide total to seven, according to reports.
Ikinari Steak will open its three new restaurants at 455 Park Avenue near East 57th Street, 37 West 46th Street between Fifth and Sixth avenues and 243 West 54th Street between Broadway and Eighth avenue, Eater New York first reported.
The steakhouse chain is known for stand-up eating and pricing their cuts of steak by the ounce, Eater New York reported. The restaurant was created in 2013 by chef and restauranteur Kunio Ichinose and now has more than 100 locations in Japan, according to its website.

By pricing its meat by weight restaurant also offers diners to track their steak-eating prowess on a "Niku Mileage Card" — which "allows diners to track how many grams of steak they’ve eaten and ranks them against other regulars," according to the Ikinari website.
Ikinari opened its first stateside restaurant in the East Village on February 23 in an opening ceremony that was attended by former New York Mets manager Bobby Valentine.

We love vegetables as much as meat! OK. That's not true. We love steak more. But for those preferring more Veggie with your steak, we offer veggie add-ons for your steak! It's available for both Lunch and Dinner :) Just ask the staff at cut station upon ordering.
