Fire Engulfs Stall At Bryant Park Holiday Market: FDNY
The fire sent plumes of black smoke into the air after it broke out Friday morning, according to video from the scene.

MIDTOWN, NY — A fire broke out Friday morning at the Bryant Park holiday market, sending plumes of black smoke above the Manhattan skyline, officials said.
FDNY Battalion Chief Joe Castellano said fire crews responded to West 40th Street between Fifth and Sixth Avenues shortly after 9:20 a.m. and found a kiosk housing four vendors engulfed in flames.
Video from the scene showed large flames sending thick, black smoke into the air above the park.

Castellano said the fire was brought under control by 10 a.m. No injuries were reported.
The blaze caused slight damage to an adjacent kiosk, Castellano said. The roof of a nearby ice skating rink also sustained heat damage.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
