Grand Central Terminal To Host End Of Summer Festival

The "Summer Send-Off" festival will feature food, musical performances and kid-friendly activities.

MIDTOWN MANHATTAN, NY — A section of Grand Central Terminal will be transformed into a bustling event space next week for the terminal's "Summer Send-Off" festival. The festival will feature a raffle, food vendors and special musical performances from a number of broadway productions, according to a news release.

The "Summer Send-Off" kicks off Tuesday, Aug. 22 and will continue in Grand Central's Vanderbilt Hall until Thursday, Aug. 24. Some of this year's big draws will be performances by the cast of "Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812," and "Wicked," as well as food from Magnolia Bakery, Shake Shack and several other Grand Central vendors.

The festival will also feature kid-friendly activities such as face painting and demonstrations from Kidding Around Toys and the New York Transit Museum, according to a press release.
