The strip club's application was approved, with stipulations, by Community Board 4's business license & permits committee.

HELL'S KITCHEN, NY — A popular strip club chain with 16 worldwide locations is planning it's first foray into New York City, and just cleared a preliminary hurdle to set up shop in Hell's Kitchen.

The Community Board 4 business license & permits committee approved an application from strip club giant Spearmint Rhino for a proposed "gentleman's club" on West 50th Street between 11th and 12th avenues, Community Board district manager Jesse Bodine confirmed with Patch.

The club would occupy three stories at 637 West 50th street, which is currently home to a nightclub called Space Ibiza. The total capacity of the new Spearmint Rhino would be 1,090 inside and 200 on a third-floor rooftop, according to plans filed with the community board.
