Man Jumps To His Death From Hudson Yards Vessel; 2nd In 2 Months
A 21-year-old man died Monday after leaping from the vessel sculpture at Hudson Yards, police said — the second such death since December.
MIDTOWN MANHATTAN, NY — A young man jumped to his death Monday morning from the Vessel at Hudson Yards, police said, the second suicide at the outdoor structure since last month.
Authorities responded to the structure around 11:30 a.m. after receiving multiple calls about a jumper.
He was pronounced dead shortly afterwards, police said. A spokesperson did not say whether the man had been taken to a hospital. His identity has not been released.

The 150-foot, honeycomb-like attraction has been closed temporarily, a Hudson Yards spokesperson said.

"Our deepest sympathies are with the family of the person who lost his life," the spokesperson said in an email.
Monday's suicide is the third at the Vessel since it opened in March 2019. On Dec. 22, a 24-year-old woman died after leaping from the structure. A 19-year-old college student died by suicide at the Vessel last February.
