Best Apple Pies In The U.S. Served BY 2 NYC Bakers, Report Says

HELL'S KITCHEN, NY — October is nearly over and Thanksgiving is rapidly approaching. If you're like most of us — devoid of any real skill in the kitchen — you may be searching for the perfect baked good to bring to your annual family gathering/political debate.

Luckily, New Yorkers have the best apple pies in the country right on their doorstep.

Food website The Daily Meal named Little Pie Company in Hell's Kitchen and Four & Twenty Blackbirds in Gowanus as two of the best 17 places in America to buy apple pie.

Here's what The Daily Meal had to say about the bakeries:

Little Pie Company:

They use locally sourced ingredients that are cooked in small batches until their crusts are a delectable, golden brown. Their pies are made with hand-pinched crusts and are loaded with the best produce the season has to offer. Their signature pie is a sour cream apple pie made with fresh Granny Smiths; it can be shipped anywhere in the country.

Four & Twenty Blackbirds:

They sell their Salted Caramel Apple (as well as many others) whole or by the slice. They also sell handmade pie crusts and toppings so you can make whatever pie is on your mind!

Both bakeries are serving up a number of different pies for special holiday menus this Thanksgiving.

Offerings at Little Pie Company include the signature sour cream walnut apple pie, a sugarless apple pie, a Mississippi mud pie and Thanksgiving staples such as sweet potato pie and pumpkin pie. The bakery recommends ordering sweet potato pie and salted caramel apple pie in advance due to high demand. All Thanksgiving orders must be placed by Tuesday Nov. 14 and must be prepaid, according to Little Pie Company's website. Check out the bakery's full Thanksgiving menu here.

Four & Twenty Blackbirds is selling four different pies this Thanksgiving: Salted caramel apple, salty honey, brown butter pumpkin and bittersweet chocolate pecan. Pies can be ordered on the bakery's website and picked up at one of four locations.
