Renderings Reveal 4-Story Glass Retail Space In Midtown

The four-story retail building on West 48th Street draws inspiration from Apple's glass cube flagship store.

MIDTOWN MANHATTAN, NY — The developer of a new four-story retail building in Midtown Manhattan released renderings of the new space located on West 48th Street between Fifth Avenue and Rockefeller Center.

The building design evokes similar all-glass retail structures such as the iconic entrance cube of the Fifth Avenue Apple Store and the flagship stores for brands such as Uniqlo and Baccarat. The all-glass facade will allow for maximum visibility into the store from both Fifth Avenue and Rockefeller Center, according to developers.

DNA Development filed plans to construct its new retail development on West 48th Street in March and received the go-ahead from the city Department of Buildings in August, according to permits filed with the department. The building will contain more than 32,000 square feet of commercial space,
