Target Now Hiring For 200 Positions At New Herald Square Store

The newest small-format Target store on West 34th Street between Broadway and Seventh Avenue is hiring for its 200-person staff.

MIDTOWN MANHATTAN, NY — Retail giant Target is now hiring for 200 staff positions at its new small-format store in Herald Square, a company spokesperson told Patch Monday.

The 43,000-square-foot store (considered "small-format" for Target) will be located on West 34th Street between Broadway and Seventh Avenue and will open on Friday, Oct. 20, according to a press release.

"Target is looking for add more than 200 talented team members as we prepare for our October new store opening in Manhattan’s iconic Herald Square," Thomas Cordara, a store team leader at Target, said in a statement. "Target’s Herald Square team will be ready to serve guests with our exclusive brands, on-the-go essentials, and robust food and beverage selections to locals and tourists alike in the heart of Midtown."

Target will hold hiring fairs at the Target Studio located at 521 W 25th Street, between 10th and 11th avenues, from Monday, Aug 21, to Thursday, Aug. 24, according to a press release. The hiring fairs will be held between 8:30 a.m.-12 p.m. and 1-4:30 p.m. each day.

Target's first Midtown Manhattan store will be two stories and will offer products "tailored to meet the needs of local guests," according to a press release. The "small-format" store concept is being pushed by Target as it expands from the suburbs into dense urban neighborhoods, according to the release.

The new store will also offer an order pickup service that allows shoppers to purchase products online and pick them up at the store, according to the press release. The new Herald Square store is part of Target's push to invest in New York City and open 70 stores within the city.
