Trump Family To Leave NYC For Barron's New School In Maryland: Report
It currently costs New York City taxpayers $150,000 per day to keep the First Lady and her son safe in their Trump Tower triplex.

MIDTOWN MANHATTAN, NY — Midtown Manhattan may soon return to its normal level of chaos. Since Donald Trump was elected president, First Lady Melania Trump and son Barron Trump's security detail at Trump Tower has clogged up an already-congested area of the city, slowing traffic to a crawl and hurting nearby businesses.
But the nightmare will be over soon. Barron Trump will attend St. Andrew’s Episcopal School in Potomac, Maryland, next fall, meaning the first family will finally be moving from New York City to the White House, the Washington Post reported. Melania Trump opted to say in the Trump Tower triplex penthouse as Barron finished the school year at Columbia Prep on the Upper West Side.
"We are very excited for our son to attend St. Andrew’s Episcopal School. It is known for its diverse community and commitment to academic excellence," Melania Trump told the Washington Post in a statement. "The mission of St. Andrew’s is ‘to know and inspire each child in an inclusive community dedicated to exceptional teaching, learning, and service,’ all of which appealed to our family. We look forward to the coming school years at St. Andrew’s."

High school tuition at St. Andrew's costs $40,650, according to the school's website, but that's nothing compared to what New Yorkers were paying to keep the Trumps in New York. Since Trump's election New Yorkers have spent millions to keep the family safe.
City taxpayers are currently dishing out an estimated $150,000 per day for the personal NYPD and FDNY security detail assigned to Trump Tower in Midtown Manhattan, according to law enforcement officials. When the president visits his wife and child in the future, NYPD security costs during his visits would shoot up to around $308,000 per day.

That's on top of $24 million the city already spent to protect the Trump Tower from Election Day through Inauguration Day while then-President-elect Donald Trump was still living in Midtown.
A recent bipartisan budget deal in congress will allocate $68 million to local law enforcement agencies to reimburse the costs of protecting Trump and his family, city officials told Patch. A city hall spokesman told Patch "it's safe to assume" that New York City will get the majority of the reimbursement package because the city's costs are the nation's greatest.
