Would-Be Midtown Bank Robber Flees In Wheelchair: Police
Police are searching for a man accused of trying to stick up a Wells Fargo bank in Midtown before fleeing in a wheelchair.

MIDTOWN MANHATTAN, NY — Police are searching for a man accused of attempting to rob a Midtown bank earlier this month before fleeing in a wheelchair.
Around 1:50 p.m. on Dec. 4, the man entered a Wells Fargo bank on the corner of Sixth Avenue and West 45th Street.
Walking with a cane, the man approached a 25-year-old female teller and passed her a note demanding cash, according to police. When the teller refused to comply, the man fled east onto West 45th Street in a wheelchair, police said.

A similar robbery occurred weeks later, on Tuesday, when a man walked into a Wells Fargo on the Upper West Side and demanded cash, according to police. He fled before receiving any money.
Nothing was stolen. Police asked anyone with information about the man's identity to call the NYPD Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782). People can also submit tips online or on Twitter, @NYPDTips.
