Legislator Anker Promotes Volunteer Opportunities at Mount Sinai HS

MOUNT SINAI, NY – On Thursday, November 7th, Suffolk County Legislator Sarah Anker attended the Mount Sinai High School Honor Society Volunteer Fair. The Honor Society hosted the event to get encourage students to get involved in their community by volunteering. The two-day volunteer fair allowed students to explore different opportunities that meet their interests and abilities. Many local nonprofit organizations attended, including Coastal Steward, Angela’s House, Love on a Leash, Friends of Karen, Long Island Cares, Guide Dog Foundation, Open Door Exchange, America’s VetDogs, and Long Island Harvest.

“I’m impressed to see so many young students interested in volunteering with local organizations,” said Legislator Anker. “Community service is a great way for students to grow their compassion and learn about important issues that are affecting our community.”
