North Country Road Students Donate Homemade Cookies to Historical Society

Eighth grade students in Mrs. Sommo’s Family and Consumer Sciences classes at Miller Place School District’s North Country Road Middle School recently donated five trays of homemade chocolate chip cookies to the Miller Place-Mount Sinai Historical Society. The cookies were donated to feed the over 200 children and their families who visit the Miller House to deliver Santa Letters to “Postman Pete.” Thanks to the Miller Place students, children were able to enjoy a treat during the “Postman Pete” event at the historical house dating back to 1720. The students who donated the cookies had visited the Miller House last year as part of their social studies curriculum and were honored to give back to the Historical Society.
