Early Morning Fire Sends Residents to Hospital

Two people were injured in an early morning fire that ignited on the second floor of a two story home on Oxalis Road in Rocky Point, according to fire officials.

Volunteers from the Rocky Point Fire Department, and fire personnel from surrounding fire departments including—Wading River and Sound Beach responded to the blaze which was extinguished shortly after 5:40 a.m.  The Miller Place Fire Department’s Rapid Intervention Team (RIT) and Emergency Medical Services were requested to the scene by Rocky Point Fire Chiefs.
