Leg. Anker Announces Longwood Free Emergency Preparedness Class

On Friday, September 27th at 11 a.m., there will be a FREE Emergency Preparedness Training at the Longwood Public Library.

MIDDLE ISLAND, NY – On Friday, September 27th at 11 a.m., there will be a FREE Emergency Preparedness Training at the Longwood Public Library (800 Middle Country Road, Middle Island) hosted by Senator Ken LaValle, Assemblyman Joseph DeStefano, County Executive Bellone, and Suffolk County Legislator Sarah Anker. The program will give residents of all ages the tools and resources they need to prepare for disasters and respond accordingly. Free Emergency Starter Kits that include first aid kits, goggles, gloves, and more, will be given to each household upon successful completion of the training.

“As we begin to enter hurricane season, it is important that all residents are prepared for emergency situations,” said Legislator Anker. “I encourage residents to participate in this emergency training program to learn how to respond accordingly to a multitude of situations.”

All participants must register in advance. You can register online by visiting www.prepare.ny.gov and clicking “Training Events.”
