Legislator Anker Announces Free Emergency Preparedness Training

On Saturday, August 24th at 10 a.m., there will be a FREE Emergency Preparedness Training at the Rocky Point VFW Post 6249.

ROCKY POINT, NY – On Saturday, August 24th at 10 a.m., Suffolk County Legislator Sarah Anker is pleased to announce that there will be a FREE Emergency Preparedness Training at the Rocky Point VFW Post 6249 (109 King Road, Rocky Point). The program will give residents of all ages the tools and resources they need to prepare for disasters and respond accordingly. Free Emergency Starter Kits that include first aid kits, googles, gloves, and more, will be given to each household upon successful completion of the training.

“As we begin to enter hurricane season, it is important that all residents are prepared for different types of storms and emergency situations,” said Legislator Anker. “I encourage residents to participate in this emergency training program to learn how to respond accordingly to a multitude of situations.”

All participants must register in advance. You can register online by visiting www.prepare.ny.gov and clicking “Training Events.”
