Legislator Anker Attends Annual LI2Day Walk

On Saturday June 13th, Suffolk County Legislator Sarah Anker attended the LI2Day walk at Suffolk County's Smith Point Park.

Shirley, New York- On Saturday June 13th, Suffolk County Legislator Sarah Anker attended the LI2Day walk at Suffolk County’s Smith Point Park. The 13.1-mile walk overlooked Smith’s Point County Beach and continued through local neighborhoods. The walk helps to raise awareness of breast cancer and other cancers and 100% of the funds raised goes toward research and local support programs to benefit current cancer sufferers and survivors.

“I’d like to thank the volunteers of LI2Day for their continued dedication and commitment toward bringing awareness about breast cancer,” said Legislator Anker. “There are measures we can take to reduce the incidence of this disease, and it’s events like the LI2Day that help to bring our community together to provide information on prevention measures.”

“For 12 years LI2Day has been the primary source of funding for the North Shore Neighbors Helping Hands Coalition,” said Patti Kozlowski of the North Shore Neighbors Breast Cancer Coalition. “As a result we have been able to provide support services and financial assistance to hundreds of families in our community.”
