Legislator Anker Attends Habitat for Humanity Demolition Ceremony
Suffolk County Legislator Sarah Anker recently attended a Habitat for Humanity of Suffolk demolition ceremony.

Sound Beach, NY– On Friday, June 19th, Suffolk County Legislator Sarah Anker attended a Habitat for Humanity of Suffolk demolition ceremony for a property located on Hampton Road in Sound Beach. The ceremony recognized supporters of the project and included the demolition of a blighted property from the Sound Beach neighborhood. This is the first time Habitat for Humanity of Suffolk will build affordable housing in Sound Beach.
“I commend Habitat for Humanity of Suffolk for their tremendous work they are doing in our community,” said Legislator Anker. “It is with the work of such organizations that we can focus on revitalizing our communities and assisting those who are in need.”
“I am so happy Habitat Suffolk can partner with Suffolk County and Brookhaven Town to remove blighted properties while helping a deserving family create a place to call home,” said Diane Burke, Executive Director and CEO of Habitat for Humanity of Suffolk.

For 25 years, Habitat for Humanity of Suffolk has helped over 175 Suffolk County families achieve homeownership through its affordable housing program.
