Legislator Anker Supporting the Fight Against Cancer

Middle Island, NY- – Suffolk County Legislator Sarah Anker attended the Longwood Relay For Life on Saturday May 30th at Longwood High School in Middle Island. The event, which is sponsored by the American Cancer Society, raised over $60,000 for cancer research.

“I was honored to join participants in this years Relay for Life at Longwood,” said Legislator Anker. “Having lost a loved one to cancer, I will continue to strongly advocate for cancer research until we find a cure.”

The event is a family-friendly environment for the entire community, and provides an opportunity for participants to walk in honor and memory of loved ones who have battled cancer. Additionally, the event includes a survivors lap, a luminaria ceremony, and a fight back ceremony.
