Man Robs GNC, Third Robbery in a Week in Port Jeff Station

Latest robbery occurred Monday night, police say.

Police are investigating a robbery at a Port Jefferson Station business Monday night, the third such robbery in town over the past week.

According to police, a man entered the GNC store, located at 560 Route 112, at 7:30 p.m. and demanded money from an employee. The employee complied and the robber fled with an undisclosed amount of money, police said.

On Sunday night, a man robbed the Kool Mart located at 600 Hallock Avenue. And last Tuesday, a man robbed the Carvel located at 407 Route 112. All three robberies occurred within a half-mile radius.

No weapon was displayed in any of the robberies and no injuries have been reported. Police have not said if they believe the three robberies are connected.
