Miller Place Alum Named D3Wrestle.com Wrestler of the Week

Miller Place High School grad Alex Martocello was named “Wrestler of the Week” by D3wrestle.com on Nov. 11.

Martocello, now a senior at York College majoring in Business Administration, earned the honor by winning all four of his matches during the Monarch Invitational hosted by King’s College, wrestling at 184 pounds.

The former Panther has racked up the accomplishments as a wrestler at York. He finished in fourth place in the 2011 NCAA Championships and was named Outstanding Wrestler at the 2011 Metro Conference Championships.

Martocello's summer was spent training in Colorado at the Olympic Training Center. In his college career, he has 68 wins and 19 losses.
