Negron Files Appeal to Remain on Primary Ballot

Mt. Sinai's Ray Negron filed an appeal Tuesday to overturn Supreme Court's decision.

After the Supreme Court ruled a petition for Ray Negron, R-Mt. Sinai to run a GOP Primary against 2nd District incumbent Councilwoman Jane Bonner, Negron filed Notice in the Appellate Division of the New York Supreme Court

In the decision, the court ruled that the signatures obtained by Negron were "not obtained in conformity with Election Law Section 6-132 and are invalid.

"[The decision] fails to recognize the undisputed truth that we filed 580 uncontested signatures collected by other registered Republicans," Negron said in a release. "Our opponents are unhappy that we're fighting to put the choice back in the hands of the people, where it always belonged."
