Girls Basketball
The girls clinched a playoff spot with their sixth league win of the season Tuesday against Sayville. Center Marlaina Sherman continued her dominance with another double-double in the 50-22 win.
Sherman finished with 19 points and 14 rebounds and Brea Greene added 15 points in the win. The Panthers (6-5) are now in the League V playoffs along with Harborfields (11-0), Kings Park (9-2), and Eastport-South Manor (6-5). They have one more regular season game remaining when they will get a chance to test their wits against first-place Harborfields at home Tuesday, Feb. 15 at 6:15 p.m.

Boys Basketball
The Panthers stayed alive in the playoff hunt by clinching their fifth win of the season Tuesday against Sayville (2-9), beating them 53-40.

Jack Hepburn and Kevin Leyden both led the Panthers with 15 points apiece. Center Danny Finta finished with six points and 13 rebounds while Nick Parella added eight points. The Panthers now face a must-win game at Harborfields (11-0), Tuesday, Feb. 15 at 6 p.m. Miller Place will clinch a playoff spot with a win.

The began Sunday, Feb. 13 and Miller Place's Ryan Kelly advanced to the semifinals, which take place Monday, Feb. 14 with a win. Kelly squares off against Kings Park's Warren Bosch in the semis.
At 125 pounds, John Steiger lost in the first round but beat North Babylon's Nick Dominisch 3-1 in wrestle backs. He now has a shot to place third. The Panthers have 16 total team points in the tournament.
