The Miller Place varsity football team was unable to get its offense rolling in a first round shutout loss to Harborfields.
The Panthers, the No.3 seed, were upset by No.6 Harbrofields, 22-0 Saturday afternoon in Miller Place. Harborfields got out to an early 7-0 lead and was driving in the second quarter when defensive back James Nielsen picked one off and brough it into the Tornadoes end.
Unfortunately, the Panthers went nowhere and gave the ball up to Harborfields who had a quick-strike, 50-yard reception by Henry Zagaja to set up a short score and go up 14-0. The Panthers would get another pick by Nielsen late in the third down 14 but gave it right back to Harborfields a minute later on an errant throw.
