PHOTOS: Mustangs Stampede Over Port Jeff in First Round

Mt. Sinai easily dispatches of Port Jeff Royals, 47-13.

A dominant second half for the Mt. Sinai Mustangs paved the way to an easy 47-13 first round playoff victory over the Port Jefferson Royals Friday night.

The Mustangs (7-2) controlled most of the first half but a late drive by the Royals (5-4) was capped by a 30-yard touchdown pass by quarterback Dan Serignese to get Port Jeff within seven points with the score at 14-7 at the half.

That was the closest the Royals would get, however, as the Mustangs scored 27 straight points to put Port Jeff to bed. Mike Donadio scored on a two-yard rushing touchdown to make it 21-7, his second rushing touchdown of the day. He capped off Mt. Sinai's scoring with a 90-yard kick return touchdown in the blowout.
