Rocky Point's Joe DeFrank Named to All-Star Team

The New York State Sports Writers Association recently released its 2011 Boys Baseball All-Star Teams, and Rocky Point Senior Joe DeFrank was named to the Class A Fifth Team.

Just 60 players from all over New York State were named to the Class A squad, and less than 20 were from Long Island.

DeFrank played third base and was also a starting pitcher for the Eagles in 2011. His highlight on the mound came on May 2 against East Hampton as he pitched a complete game shutout, striking out 11 in a 6-0 win. The Eagles finished 10-8 in League VI play, 11-11 overall.
