Seven Scholar Athlete Teams for Miller Place Fall Sports
Scholar Athlete recognition in addition to other team accomplishments and individual honors.

This past fall season, student-athletes received a variety of team and individual awards for their efforts both on the field and in the classroom. Forty student-athletes from eight different teams received individual awards for athletic achievement. Seven of these teams were recognized as New York State Public High School Athletic Association Scholar Athlete teams based on the academic success of their members.
Boys Cross Country
Boys Cross Country was named a NYSPHSAA Scholar Athlete Team. Also, three students earned individual awards for their athletic accomplishments. Nick Hirdt and Jeremy Miekley were named to the All-County team while Dean Zeffer was Honorable Mention All-League.

Girls Cross Country
The Girls Cross Country team earned NYSPHSAA Scholar Athlete honors on their way to League and Division Championships. Three of their athletes were recognized individually. Sisters Tiana and Talia Guevara were both named All-State, and teammate Laura Nolan was All-County.

Field Hockey
The team was recognized as a NYSPHSAA Scholar Athlete Team. Six of their players received individual honors. Maggie Revera and Heather Ercolano made the All-County team. Kitty Moore, Maggie Gersbeck, Tiana Parrella, and Emily Mott were All-Division.
Football
Miller Place Football was named a NYSPHSAA Scholar Athlete Team this year. The team also generated ten individual awards. Matt Hinchy, Ryan Kelly, and Alex Greenidge made the All-County team. Colin Ferrall, PJ Castrovinci, Bryce Krawec, James Nielsen and Adin Greenfield were named first team All-Division, while Brett Osman and Cody McPartland were second team All-Division.
Boys Soccer
Five players from the Boys Soccer team earned individual awards this fall. Matt Ebel and Steve Liantonio were All-Conference, Matt Liantonio and Dan Sallato were All-League, and Mike Letterio received Academic All-County honors.
Girls Soccer
Girls Soccer was named a NYSPHSAA Scholar Athlete Team for the 2011 season. Six players were granted awards for their skill on the field. Kayla Ceschini was named second team All-State and Caroline Fitchett made the All-County team. Karysa Pikoulas, Brittany Evola, Kara Patrovic, and Courtney Ebel each earned All-League recognition.
Girls Volleyball
Girls Volleyball was also granted the title of NYSPHSAA Scholar Athlete Team. Four players earned individual awards. Carleen Altinok earned both All-League and Academic All-County recognition. Ashley Darmanin also made the Academic All-County Team. Ava Striegl was All-League and Kristine Minogue was All-League Honorable Mention.
Girls Tennis
The girls tennis team not only earned NYSPHSAA Scholar Athlete honors, but also took home the League IV Championship. Three players were granted awards for their athletic achievements as Jennifer McManus, Lindsay Capozzi, and Marissa Martino earned All-League recognition.
