Sound Beach Fire Department Takes First Place in Great Neck Show and Muster
The SBFD Muster team grabbed the top spot in the 18th Annual Great Neck Antique Fire Apparatus Show and Muster.
They call themselves the Beach Bums, and on June 25, the Sound Beach Fire Department Muster team traveled to Great Neck and took first place in overall points, show and muster in the 18th Annual Antique Fire Apparatus Show and Muster.
The team of Capt. Mike Rosasco, Lt. Joe LoConte, Ex-Capt. Bill Pellenz Jr, John Hoffman, Dan Ryan, Jim Hudson Sr., Jim Hudson Jr. and Deanna Toronto earned multiple honors and accolades during the event.
In Muster field events they placed first in Men's Efficiency, second in Men's Hose Rolling and Midnight Alarm and third in Bucket Brigade. For the Show, the antique pumpers 1939 Diamond T took first in Best appearing organization owned, restored 1930-1939 and their 1970 Mack was first in Best appearing organization owned, restored 1970-1979. The Mack also finished second in Bracket Pumping.
