Cardiology Student Shows off Still Lifes at Mineola Library
Local artist Anna Kezerashvili shares paintings with gallery at library.
During the month of July, visitors to the ’s lower floor gallery will have a chance to see some of the works of local artist Anna Kezerashvili.
Originally from Russia, Kezerashvili became aware of her love for art when she was about 5 years old, moving to the United States at the age of 14 and creating her first paintings by the time she entered college.
Self-taught, Kezerashvili says she found herself simply looking at images and recreating them on the canvas and continued to study painters and imitate their techniques.

Currently training to become a cardiologist at , Kezerashvili finds time to paint between her studies and raising her 2 year old son, Aleksander Nikolas.
Kezerashvili says that the paintings on display in her collection represent the transitions in her life and the phases of artistic expression that she's gone through over the years, although there were also a few pieces that were done by her father, also an artist.

The paintings range from animals, landscapes to still lives of food and wine and portraits of her son from the ages of 9 months to 2 years.
“(He’s) most recently been the greatest inspiration for (my) artwork,” Kezerashvili said of her son.
A self-proclaimed perfectionist, Kezerashvili says that when she sees something beautiful she feels the desire to bring her own interpretation of that beauty into her paintings, which is why she is so attracted to the art form.
Although the paintings are not produced for money due to their sentimental value, prices are available only upon special request.
The paintings will remain on display at the library through the end of July.
