Crime Blotter: Assault and a Dunkin’ Robbery

Third Precinct police responded to the following calls Jan. 5 – 20 in Mineola.

Jan. 13: a domestic assault occurred on Jefferson Avenue at about 6 p.m. Police arrested Samantha R. Bieniek, 20, for allegedly throwing water and striking the victim in their shoulder, which was previously injured.

Jan. 19: the on Jericho Turnpike was robbed around 1:17 a.m. According to detectives, a 44-year old male employee heard a knock at the rear entrance, opened it and was confronted by three male suspects who forced the employee into the basement office. Thieves removed $3,175 from a desk and cabinet before disabling the video surveillance system and threw the victim to the floor where he hit his head and lost consciousness temporarily. The three suspects then fled the scene via the same rear entrance.

The thieves, who were all approximately 6 feet in height, wore dark clothing, masks and gloves to conceal their identities. The employee was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
