Don’t Let Asthma Keep Your Child From Being Active

It can be quite a dilemma – your child has asthma and exercise is a common asthma trigger, therefore, it seems logical to limit a child’s activities. But inactivity has the potential to lead to other health problems. What’s a parent to do?

Parents can learn what they need to know at Winthrop-University Hospital’s free lecture, “Don’t Let Asthma Keep Your Child From Being Active”.

Jon Roberts, MD, Associate Director, Department of Pediatric Pulmonology and Director of the Pediatric Pulmonary Exercise Laboratory at Winthrop, will address growing health trends in children with asthma and provide guidelines for minimizing risk.

“Asthma should not stop a child from being as active as he or she would like to be. We have the ability to prevent these symptoms from interfering with a child’s life,” said Dr. Roberts, who will explain how parents of children with asthma can ensure their child’s well-being.

Attendees are asked to arrive at 6:45 PM and park in the rear of the building. Admission is free, but seating is limited and reservations are required. To reserve your space, call 1-866-WINTHROP.
