Finding Strength Together: A New Tool for Couples Coping with Breast Cancer

Winthrop-University Hospital’s Breast Health Center announced that it will hold an innovative program, “Finding Strength Together: A New Tool for Couples,” designed for breast cancer patients and their significant others on two consecutive Wednesdays, March 7 and March 14, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.  The program will be held at the Winthrop Wellness Pavilion, 1300 Franklin Avenue, Suite ML-5 in Garden City, and is intended to provide strategies to help couples tackle the challenges of coping with breast cancer. 

Topics are scheduled as follows:  March 7 – Solving Problems, Managing Issues and Improving Communication; March 14 - Exploring Your Role as Caregiver or Survivor, and Integrating Problem-Solving into Your “New Normal.”

Sessions will be led by Alisha Ellis, LMSW, MA.  Advance registration and pre-screening is required. A light dinner will be included. For more information or to register, please call Ms. Ellis at (516) 663-2556.
