Nassau County Bar Association Hosts Seminar: Planning with Your Aging Parents

Nassau residents interested in helping aging parents plan for the future can learn more about up-to-date laws from top attorneys at "Planning with Your Aging Parents," on Wednesday, January 26, 2011, 7 p.m. Presented by the Nassau County Bar Association, the free seminar will be held at the Bar's headquarters, 15th and West Streets, Mineola.

Whether giving advice and guidance, planning for parents' health care, or your own, the seminar will address important issues including:

  • Power of Attorney
  • Guardianship
  • Health Care Proxy
  • Living Will
  • Wills & Trusts
  • Financing Long Term Care
  • Geriatric Care Management
  • Advocacy

Leading elder law, social services and health advocacy attorneys participating in the seminar include NCBA Elder Law Committee Co-Chairs Ellen Flowers and Michael Pfeifer, Vice Chairs Terry Scheiner and Josephine Loizzo, and Past Chairs Lawrence Berwitz and Mary Giordano. Registered Nurse Virginia Belling will address geriatric care management.

The seminar is one of a series of free legal education programs presented each year through NCBA's Community Relations and Public Education Committee, chaired by Gale Berg.
