
Winthrop-University Hospital’s Perspectives in Health series will present a comprehensive seminar for the public, “Prostate Cancer: From Diagnosis through Treatment” . The program will provide men and their families with the opportunity to learn the latest information about screening, staging and diagnosing the disease, as well as treatment options.
Presenters include Harry Staszewski, MD, Chief of the Division of Oncology/Hematology and Director of Cancer Clinical Trials at Winthrop; Jonathan Haas, MD, Chief of the Division of Radiation Oncology at Winthrop; and David Gershbaum, MD, Chief of Minimally Invasive Urology at Winthrop. The physicians will explain PSA levels, Gleason Scores and active surveillance, and will present the latest treatment advances, such as CyberKnife, radiation, robotic surgery, chemotherapy and vaccine treatment of prostate cancer. A question and answer period will be included.
Attendees are asked to arrive at 6:45 p.m. for registration. Parking and the entrance are available in the rear of the building. Seating is limited and pre-registration is required.
