Man Beats Up, Robs Another Man at Long Island Wedding: Police
Authorities found plastic knuckles in his possession Thursday morning, police say.

WESTBURY, NY - A Vermont man was arrested Thursday morning for beating up and robbing another man while attending a wedding in Westbury, police say.
According to authorities, Lawrence E. Stevens, 32, of Shelburne, was at Verdis of Westbury, located at 80 Old Country Road, when he became involved in a physical altercation with a 35-year-old man at 1:46 a.m.
Stevens punched the man on the right side of the face, causing him to fall to the ground, and continued to punch the man as he forcibly removed a gold-colored ring the man was wearing, police say.

Officers arrived to the scene and and placed Stevens under arrest without incident and discovered plastic knuckles in his possession, police say.
The victim, who suffered from bruising and swelling, refused medical treatment at the scene.

Stevens was charged with second-degree robbery, third-degree assault and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon. He will be arraigned Thursday at First District Court in Hempstead.
Another guest at the same wedding was arrested for driving drunk with a 5-year-old child in his car just minutes later, police said.
