Mineola Man Killed in Crash Into Tree Off LIE Service Road
The accident occurred Saturday night, police say.

OLD WESTBURY, NY - A 24-year-old Mineola man was killed and a driver is in critical condition after a car slammed into a tree off the south service road of the Long Island Expressway in Old Westbury Saturday night, Nassau Police said.
According to police, a 24-year-old man was driving a 2004 Nissan Maxima east on the service road approaching Post Road when he lost control of the vehicle and struck a curb on Store Hill Road at about 7:16 p.m.
The vehicle continued traveling about 40 feet before it collided with a tree, police said.
The lone passenger in the car, 24-year-old German Enrique Molina, was pronounced dead at Nassau University Medical Center.
The driver, who police did not name, was transported to a local hospital in critical condition.
No criminal charges are expected to be filed. The investigation is ongoing.
It was the first of two fatal crashes in Nassau this weekend. A 22-year-old man was killed in a two-car crash on the Southern State Parkway early Sunday morning.
