Mineola Students Tell Stories by Building Creations
Students connected to their curriculum in a fun and unique way.
Second-graders at Meadow Drive School in the Mineola Union Free School District have been connecting to their curriculum in a fun and unique way.
Utilizing Lego Education Story Starter sets, students are literally building stories that incorporate aspects such as community and types of narrative that they learned in class. Once their creation is complete, second-graders are using iPads to take pictures of their work and use a story visualizer application to construct a written work that compliments their Lego design. Students then present their finished projects to the class and make comparisons to what they have learned.
