Nassau Officers Help Mother Deliver Baby On Kitchen Floor
Angelina Yan's baby was eager to join the world, and she wasn't going to make it to the hospital. Luckily the officers were able to help.

Early Friday morning, Nassau County police officers helped a mother deliver her baby after realizing they wouldn't make it to a hospital in time.
According to police, Angelina Yan, of Mineola, started going into labor shortly after 7 a.m. today. Her husband, Christopher Lam, called 911 after realizing his wife wouldn't make it to the hospital to deliver the baby.
Police officers Elizabeth King, Luigi Viola and Steven Kovacs arrived at their home and found Angelina on the floor of the kitchen. At 7:22 a.m., the officers helped her deliver a healthy baby girl, Madison Olivia Lam, who weighed 5.5 pounds.

After the birth, both mom and baby were taken to Winthrop Hospital by paramedics. They are both happy and healthy.
It was the second time this week that Nassau officers helped a mother deliver her baby under unique circumstances.
