• NextEra Closes Battery Storage Facilities (easthamptonstar.com) — Operations at the battery storage facility on North Shore Road in Montauk have been temporarily halted after East Hampton Town authorized legal action and pressed NextEra to address chemical contamination concerns. Local and county officials say the shutdown will allow management of the Novec 1230 issue linked to a prior fire, with more updates expected as the situation develops.
• Remembering Robert 'Buffalo Bob' Conte of Montauk (danspapers.com) — Montauk is mourning Robert "Buffalo Bob" Conte, a beloved surfer, recycler, music buff, and Yankees fan who settled here in the early 1980s and recently died after a brief illness.
