The politicians have the power to open the books. They have 7+ Court Orders and a contract with the City’s bank to access and publish tax data right now.

Yet they refuse.

Keep the facts in mind. With COVID killing our economy and environmental liabilities looming — they only spared “240 seconds” to hint at well-known fiscal problems while offering no solutions.

Overall, they choose to lie back when they could choose to lead forward.

Why are they shirking away from protecting the people from serious threats?

You have the power to hold them accountable.

TOMORROW — November 3rd, VOTE FOR TRANSPARENCY!

VOTE FOR ALL 4 CHARTER REVISION AMENDMENTS!

The same way political dissatisfaction drove our founders to declare Independence from the Crown, we too can “Make History” by declaring Independence from petty politics with Mount Vernon’s Charter changes.

We must keep sight of the goal and know that the new provisions will Force City Hall to Work For You by requiring:

1. A Comprehensive Plan

2. Independent Audits

3. Quarterly Financial Reports

4. A New Charter Revision Commission

These principles set a new foundation for us to achieve the greater good.

Stop them from stopping us!

Stop them from treating your taxes like a steak dinner.

Let them know that you understand what is at stake.

A Charter Revision Victory will make it clear that we will not a stand for being sold out for short-term political gain, when the Charter Revisions provide long-term policy solutions that protect our homes.

TOMORROW — TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 3rd, VOTE to change the direction of the country and VOTE to change the direction for our city.

The Charter Revisions will give us all access to the City’s finances to measure our success, learn from failures, and implement a new system of continuous improvement.

TOMORROW — TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 3rd, REMEMBER TO FLIP OVER THE BALLOT AND:

VOTE FOR TRUE CHANGE.

VOTE FOR TRANSPARENCY.

VOTE FOR A NEW SYSTEM.

VOTE FOR ALL 4 MOUNT VERNON CHARTER REVISIONS!

These new laws represent the new bridges we need to move Mount Vernon over the political divisions to reach new provisions of prosperity for years to come.

Now is your time to Take Control and Vote! Our destiny depends on it.

Always Yours in Service,

Richard Thomas
Former Mayor
