19-Year-Old Arrested In Shooting Of Westchester 15-Year-Old
The suspect who fled the scene of the shooting was arrested at a Yonkers home a week after the ambush-style violence.

YONKERS, NY — A suspect is now in custody after a Westchester teenager was shot twice last Wednesday.
On October 26, shortly before 10:30 p.m., Yonkers police were called to Woodworth Ave. after reports of a person wounded by gunshots.
Officers arriving on the scene found a 15-year-old boy with gunshot wounds to his lower body. He was taken to a local trauma center in stable condition.

Investigators believe that the teenage victim was standing in front of a residential building on Woodworth with several others when a suspect approached them, displayed a handgun and fired at least three gunshots towards them, striking the victim at least two times. The suspect then fled the scene.

Over the following week, investigators were able to develop information about the identity of the suspect. He was apprehended Wednesday at a Yonkers home.
19-year-old Joseph Tejera, of Yonkers, was arrested by Squad 3 detectives and charged with attempted murder and weapons possession. He is expected to be arraigned late Thursday.
Investigators said they are continuing to develop information about any possible motive.
