Scott drove forward and Pinto was launched onto the hood. Then Scott kept going with Pinto hanging on for about 30 yards, at which point Pinto fell off backward onto the road — and both right wheels ran over her. Pinto sustained multiple fractures and internal injuries causing her death, Acting Westchester County District Attorney James A. McCarty said.
Scott drove away. She was arrested four days later after a joint investigation by the Westchester County District Attorney’s Office, the Yonkers Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
Assistant District Attorney Michelle Lopez and Assistant District Attorney Kerrie Williams of the Superior Court Trial Bureau prosecuted the case.
